Inventory Management

The Inventory Management feature allows users to set and manage inventory levels for catalog items. When an item is no longer in stock, the inventory level is set to zero and the system automatically moves the Catalog item to "out of stock". This prevents users from ordering more items than are currently in stock.

ContentWelder allows you to view and manage data for inventory items in the Inventory Management view.

Access Inventory Management

Click the Catalog drop-down menu then the Inventory Management option from the ContentWelder home page.

Create Inventory Item

Inventory items must be created and configured in the Inventory Item view before they can be approved and then ordered by users in the system. First, click on the "+Create Inventory Item" button to display the Create Inventory Item screen.

The Create Inventory Item screen will be shown for user configuration. The tabs in the Create Inventory Item view mirrors the Edit Catalog Items view.

Manage Inventory Levels

Once an Inventory catalog item has been created and configured, you can add and/or update the number of units for inventory items. First, click on the row item for the Inventory item.

Next, click the "+ Add Vendor Inventory" button in the "Manage Inventory Levels" screen and then click the "Inventory" option.

Input the number of units for the inventory item into the "Quantity" field. You can also update this field to increase the number of items in stock.

The updated units are now shown and will be reduced when the item is ordered.

When the value of the available and reserved units have reach zero, the Out of Stock icon will be shown in the Inventory Management view.

Upload Preview Image for Inventory Catalog Item

You can personalize the inventory item by adding a preview image to it. First navigate to the Catalog Items view and locate the Inventory catalog item. Once the Inventory catalog item is found, click the Upload Preview button.

Next, navigate to the image and upload it via the "Upload Preview" option.

Once the image has been uploaded, it will be shown as a preview image for the catalog item.

Approve Inventory Catalog Item

Inventory catalog items must be approved before users can order them. In the Catalog items view, click the approve button for the inventory catalog item to approve it.

The approved catalog item will be available for users to order it in the dashboard.
